After engaging in this blog activity for my OMDE 603 class, I can critically reflect on how this exercise has helped me to develop cognitively, affectively, and morally. I was able to personally reflect and share my view regarding the course readings and ideas related to this class by writing in my blog. I learned how to create personalized educational content, collaborate, and share my thoughts and opinions with others in my class via the internet. This assignment has helped me to learn, comprehend, and reflect on several topics that were covered in modules 2 and 3. These topics included the following:
Furthermore, this exercise has helped me to keep track of my learning, gain independence, foster autonomy, establish my own learning goals and objectives, and engage in self-reflective learning. This blog has allowed me to have a high-degree of autonomy in selecting what topics I wanted to write about for my blog postings. I have learned that blogs are good for helping students to learn because it makes them reflect and engage in higher-order thinking. Hence, critical writing is a necessary skill that people need for the act of blogging. Since I was able to engage in critical thinking, it allowed me to comprehend, analyze, synthesize, evaluate, and make application of the information I have learned. Even though this is not a long-term blog, it still has encouraged and motivated me to shape my own learning, which will help me to develop into an independent lifelong learner. In the end, I feel that I was able to demonstrate critical thinking skills regarding the course readings and ideas related to this class by completing the blog assignment.
